Cedar Pergola with Privacy Slat Wall

The gallery starts with what was there before: an aging structure at the end of its life, leaning on the tree that had outgrown it. It came down, and a new cedar pergola went up in its place — heavier posts, steel-plated connections, and rafters run to shade the door-side path.
The best detail is the horizontal slat wall on the neighbor side. On a Park Cities lot the next house is close, and a screen of spaced cedar boards buys real privacy without building a fence inside the yard.
